They czan be made from a gallon jug and a plant saucer but to be honest I don't know if a hummer would use it but they may. I find that mine like a fine mist spray.

How do you get a fine mist? do you have a bath that does this, or do you just spray water for them?

There are misters available at garden centers. I have a trigger nozzle on my hose that has a mist setting. I also have a ,oster that is on a coil and can be wrapped around a shepherds' hook, pole, tellis, etc. the end screws onto the end of the garden hose and then I just put it where I want it and wrap it around what ever is handy. It could also be used with a bird bath if you position something behind the bird bath to wrap it around and then direct the spay to the bath. This mister has a finer spray than the mist setting on the spray nozzle. I bought it at Wal Mart in the Hardware depart. this past summer. I think they retail for $5.00 but I got mine on clearance. There was a second one that was larger and more heavy duty but for my purpose the smaller one is ideal.
