Merrickjrm--that is a very interesting event that you saw happen and I have been searching for an answer , but I did not find it. Although I did find a similar happening on another forum. Member said two males were fighting untill one died, then later supposedly the murderer came back and carried the dead bird away and he was asking the same question that you are. On a so-called expert forum the answer I got back was it is impossible for one hummer to carry another off by its bill or feet. Since I now know of two such episodes and it is possible and I told them so. I like you , would still like to know the answer
