Is there anything different about the one site that might make it preferred? Have you tried moving the second feeder to another location? My regular hummingbirds have some favorite paths into and out of our garden so I am thinking there may be something preferred in the one site. If you didn't want to change the sites I would take down the preferred feeder for a lil bit to as long as a few days to kinda force them to notice the other one. (People who live in colder areas might want to wait for warmer weather before removing a preferred feeder though.) If you placed both feeders near each other, can the hummers see both feeders or other hummers approaching both feeders easily during feeding? Is there shelter near the one feeder or a tree or something else that makes the sites different if the feeders are not near one another? Have you tried cleaning and refilling the feeders at the same time so you can make conditions of the food the same in both feeders? What happens when you switch the feeder locations, placing the new one in the old spot and the old one in the new spot? I would want to rule out the actual feeders and concentrate on the locations then. Anyway, please give us an update or more clues as you have me curious. Happy holidays, Mike : )
