I was planning to attend the Tree Care Workshop in Indianola . I tossed a coin and decided to attend Garden Chautauqua . I copied your info and emailed it to my other gardening friends. I don't know if it will be just me or I will have others with. I'm Shelly Y's aunt. She lives just a short way from you. Maybe she will come with. Thanks for letting us in on this.

So how was the Chautauqua workshop? I went last year and really enjoyed it, but unable to go today. Did they have a "full house"

There was a great attendance. I really enjoyed it. The only problem I had was the bleacher seats. I have a back ache still. The room was cold. I do understand that though . It's to costly to heat the school up on the weekend.
I did suggest Dan Mays as a speaker for next year. Our own ironbelly. Hope you don't mind belly.

It was a fun day! I was told they had about 150 attendees. The building was cold, but the little room I spoke in warm up once it was full.

How kind of you to mention me as a speaker for this event in Chickasaw County. I would love to speak to the folks up in northeastern Iowa at their next Chautauqua. The closest I have been to this event was a gardening series I spoke at last year for the folks in Delaware County (just west of the Dubuque area).

If you have never been to one of my lectures, they are really fun events. I usually give away a bunch of plants that I feel more people should be growing. I also try to present my information from a slightly different perspective than what you are used to hearing. I try to make folks aware that they are a lot smarter and more knowledgeable than most of the "experts" give them credit for -- if they will just stop listening to a lot of the nonsense coming from so many of these "experts".
