Gophers!!! Oh no!!! I imagine that if they develop a taste for iris, they can make short work of your new beds pretty fast. That new soil is probably a little easier for them to tunnel in, lazy little critters.

Egg nog is lovely!

I chased a gopher through my iris beds all one summer. Finally got him in September.

I'll keep after it as long as it takes. Last night I dug up all the new ones in that area and plunked into 5 gal. containers.

Of 30 tulip bulbs all but 2 were eaten and the ranunculus too.

Eggnog is very pretty! Sorry about the gopher. Luckily I don't have any of those, just darn moles tunneling under my iris, but at least they don't eat them.

Those darn tunnels are not so great for root systems. The ones I dug had shallow systems!

Moles are cuter than gophers!
