A year or so ago at a plant auction, someone brought in a lavender iris that, I swear, smelled like grape koolaid. Not overpowering, but a very definite and very identifiable fragrance. The iris itself was lovely but not significantly prettier than any other of similar color. She got it from someone and didn't have any idea what the name was or where you could find it to purchase. Needless to say, it was a very popular item, and the bidding was vigorous. I tried very hard but was unable to purchase either one of the two she brought in. Does anyone have any idea what this might be?
