This iris bloomed in my mothers garden. It is an unusual color, but what's more interesting is the fact that it bloomed in my mother's purple garden. She insists she didn't plant it and never would plant a lone orange plant in her purple garden. Any idea on how this could happen?

That's a gorgeous orange iris. It's likely that a small piece of the orange rhizome was mixed in with the purple iris when she got it. Your first photo is very nice.

There are so many orange iris that look so much alike. You will have to consider bloom time & height. Voltage looks very like this one, but yours looks like a shorter one. Jolt is a shorter one. Personally, I think orange is a harder one to id.
