Mophead mistake.....+ Q's

I have 3 hydrangea questions: The last is the biggie.

1) Should I leave a potted PeeGee tree in my zone 5b central Michigan garden or move it to a covered wind protected area for winter?

2) Should I prune a new Annabelle transplant with sun scorched leaves or not for optimal transplant health?

3)Mophead disaster.....

I'll spare you the horrors of how it came to be (landscaper), but I now have 4 mopheads in a full sun, dry as a bone hillside. They've gotta pack up and move before next summer if not sooner. Help me correct this disaster.

First: This spot gets all the drifted snow from my acre yard blown over it. If I can keep the bloom, I would leave the plants until spring when I build them a better garden. Anyone think it's likely? I thought not.

Second: What are the odds they can find a home without proper overwintering in my backyard? It is zone 5b, backs to wetlands, reduced frosting from decidious tree cover and slope to wetlands, partial to full shade in summer months.

Third: If the easy ways out do not work, I'm building a garden they will fit into next summer. I'll dig them and overwinter them the right way in leaves or probably hay bales. Could I do pots in the insulated unheated garage? It stays probably 42-45 degrees in there at the depths of winter.

Any overall advice or comments are much appreciated.
