Hi everybody.

I was given a gift of a Little Gem Magnolia tree. I live in Zone 6 NY. I have about an acre of land with a perimeter of woods that are very shaded in the summer. Could this Magnolia thrive in the shade of tall trees or does it really need sunshine? I"m not sure where to put it as I don't want it in the middle of my lawn! Any suggestions as to what would make this tree happy in my backyard in NY? I've read part shade to sun, but would it be happier in full sun here? Thanks in advance to anyone who knows this plant and give advice.
