I'm impressed. I've never come close to this date for a ripe tomato. Your right. Home grown Cherry will beat any store bought variety.

Started seeds in middle of February.

This is the earliest blooming variety that I have ever grown that has produced edible tomatoes, out of the hundreds of tomato varieties that I have grown over the years.

Variety "MicroTom" blooms earlier but tomatoes are almost inedible - more of a novelty plant than anything else.

My favorite go-to container cherry variety is still "Red Robin". It has become so popular around here due to my past give-aways that I am now starting a hundred of them every year to satisfy all the friends and family members who request them. :)

You said 'outdoor container plants' ... When did you transplant them?. And are they covered at night?..green house perhaps?

They are sitting outside in a large pot. Potted them in early May and have had them outside since. My trick is that rather than having to worry about covering the plants, I have the pot on an old furniture dolly so that I can roll the pot into the garage on cold nights - my back can not handle lifting heavy stuff like that any more. Roll it back out into the sunshine the next morning. They seem content with this arrangement.
