Hi, I think you should start by changing the tv from where it is right now to the wall where the built in is, instead of the painting or photo you have in there. You will probably have to sacrifice tv size, but I think it would look great. Then you can move the couch facing the tv, place the chairs facing the fireplace, put a good rug and voila! I definitely agree that the TV location needs to move from over the fireplace to the built-in. The TV overwhelms the fireplace and must cause very stiff necks. If it absolutely must stay over fp then move it down 18-24". What is that undulating thing in front of the hearth? It needs to go away. You need a coffee table with legs, nothing solid.

Looks as though you have some great pieces of furniture in your space. I think I would start by moving your coffee table closer to your sectional. I'd then draw in your egg chair (cute btw!) and position it closer to your coffee table at an angle. I'd edit the bench/table by your built-ins (maybe could be moved to the rear of your sectional) and place cushions on your hearth like a bench seat. Not sure if that's a desk or a chair/tray combo by your patio doors, but I'd try to find it another home. I'd be tempted to find a nice area rug to ground your main seating areas to unify the area.
