All climbers trained onto a structure must be pruned and trained to fit the space and stay open enough to make a pleasant effect. This kinds of magnolia vine will probably be too large- and dense-growing to suit your purpose. It also has rather large leaves. Maybe you should look into less heavy, smaller-growing climbers with fragrance that might be enjoyed while sitting inside the gazebo, such as climbing roses, honeysuckles and jasmines of various kinds.

I have never heard of this vine before.... does it have another name, latin or whatever. Just curious!

Looking for a Nursery in CANADA that has schisandra chinensis (magnolia vine)in pots or plugs.
Found some in the States but shipping is next to impossible.
Please help.........
