There is a farm in Orting that grows all organic produce and donates it all to the local food banks. I think it is called Mother Earth farm, but I am not sure of the name.

Most of the Seattle area p-patches donate their excess produce to NW Harvest and other local area food banks. This amounted to some 19,000 pounds last years.

And check out Marra Farms. This is a community-owned urban farm located in south Seattle. Its purpose is to teach organic gardening techniques to the mostly immigrant community it serves and generate organically grown produce for the community. Its produce is donated to a number of organizations as well as a local food bank and some is sold at the Columbia City Farmers market (proceeds used to support the farm). A friend of mine is the farm coordinator.

Good on you, Euphorbia. I love your attitude and the practices of anyone who contributes to the betterment of all, particularly the less advantaged. It is such a me-me-me attitude so much of the time, it's nice to hear of someone thinking of others for a change.

I worked in South Park for over 2 years and never knew of Marra Farms!
