Nicely said Jim.My peas are sprouting on paper towels and I am waiting for better weather. How long??

I always thought lions liked hot weather.

Here in Sequim, it was 59 degrees this afternoon, and 63 yesterday. It's starting to feel a bit springlike.

Jim- one advantage of the tunnels is that they will dry out the soil underneath them so I can plant something. I have them on the area where I will plant tomatoes soon, and also fava beans, and need to put some where I will plant my second batch of peas. I have a homemade cold frame where I already planted some peas and they are coming up.

I've had enough breaks in rain here to make progress every day on my pruning. I had a lot of snow damage this year, 20' tall sections of elderberry breaking off, and my tall Rugosa rose hedge is severely mashed. It is such a snarled mess I can't picture how I can remedy it, unless I had a suit of armor and a chainsaw, or maybe a flame thrower.:-)

Can't wait to plant some beans!
