If these ever cross with bullfrogs, watch out!

It was really weird here on 2/26. We had about 1.5" of snow on the ground when I left for work around 10:30 AM and when I got home at around 8 PM there was no snow and the peepers were peeping in the pond for the first time this spring.
I'm late with my skunk cabbage report this year. I missed the first little green tips and now they are about ready to bloom.
Up to 4" of snow predicted on Sunday but it was in the mid 50's today! jwww

I LOVE tree frogs. I grew up in Bothell, and they used to be everywhere until the eighties when things probably got too built up for them to have any place to breed. I am jealous!

They're laying eggs already here, in spite of the cold, in any puddle they can find and in the pool, which I'll cover soon to keep them from adding more. It's not the healthiest place for them.

Globally frogs are being killed off by pollution etc.

No bullfrogs here. I'd never introduce them and I'd euthanize any of the non native frogs if they showed up. They are eating our native frogs and turtles into extinction.

I live right in the city, no natural areas nearby.

I don't know if it makes you guys feel secure or not, but I'm a member of the GSAS(Greater Seattle Aquarium Society) and a number of the members raise tadpoles every year and are very careful to make sure they are not bullfrogs before releasing them back to the wild. Bullfrogs get fed to cats/killed in other ways. IIRC, I think that someone set up a "hunting trip" at one of the local wetlands with blowguns to kill bullfrogs. lol

Have t-shirts etc. printed up: "GSAS Bullfighters".

You do have to watch out for those tree frogs. If you walk by a green tree with smooth clammy bark you don't remember being in that spot before...
