I have been given a bag of about 25 daffodil bulbs that were bought last fall, but never planted. They had been in an unheated garage in a paper bag through the winter and now have just a bit of sprouting (maybe 1 inch, but seem to be quite firm still.

My question is what can I do with these now? Should I put them in the ground and hope they'll come up next year or would they be better in pots?? If I do plant them now, can I still plant annual flowers on top of them for summer color?

I was also given some snow crocus bulbs which were in the same bag; she had apparently planned to put these in the same location with the daffodils. Should they be at the same depth or not? Beside them, or on top?? Thanks for any tips.
