Kiwi growing

I plan to plant Kiwi to replace my grape plants. The info I have read so far suggest I plant the hardy Kiwi but I am left with wonder about weather our growing season is long enough to realize fruiting and my goal is to have yummy Kiwi to munch on and possibly perserve.

The Kiwi would be grown on a fence line in full mid-day to evening sun ... the grapes did well there ... my location is between Bonney Lake and Buckley.

I would appreciate any input from Kiwi growers as to which plant would be best suited for this area and how well I might expect it to produce.

i don't know about your area, but the hardy kiwi (Actinida arguta) i bought my mom is great in the willamette valley and produces a good amount of fruit there. make sure you buy a self fertile variety... i recommend 'Issai.'
it's grown on a fence on the south side of the house.

The Issai is the one I have been considering at this point ... thanks again.

I just bought an Issai Kiwi. The people at the nursery told me that they are reliable producers of fruit in our area.

Everett and Ming, do you guys have pollinators for your Issai? I'm thinking seriously about getting one in Seattle but do NOT have room for a male.
