Hi,

I'm house-hunting online from Boulder, Colorado. I'm looking at houses on the Eastside area of Seattle (or however it's described: Kirkland, Redmond, Renton, etc.). I've noticed in some of the real estate photos that some of the houses are surrounded by enormous conifers -- beautiful, but should I be concerned? Here in Colorado, forests have been devastated by pine beetles. The dead trees create hazards by falling, erupting into enormous fires, etc.

Is the pine beetle expected to hit that area of Washington? Is the elevation too low? Are the beetles already there?

Any information would be appreciated.
