nurseries or gardens to visit

Hi! was just curious what gardens and nurseries to visit along the I5 corridor? i've been to the oregon gardens, the portland rose garden, shore acres, village green, northwestern gardens. I am looking for something new to see. can't get to canada to soon so thats out unfortunatly.

I am not talking right off the freeway but something relevally close. I live near Eugene and hubby wants to take me for a drive this weekend to gardens. I think it so he doesnt feel guilty about spending money going to the races! oh, well, works for me.

Heirloom Roses is a nice one to visit, with beautiful display gardens. Ferguson's Fragrant Nursery is in that area too.

I'm going to Schreiner's Iris Gardens, Ferguson's Fragrant Nursery and Heirloom Roses on Monday. They are all close to I5 and North of Salem but South of Portland.

I am not sure where to send you, closer to Eugene.

Oh - I'm jealous buyorsell888! I've been wanting to visit Schreiners. I've got a pretty good collection of Iris. Look out for really dark purple ruffled Tall Beardeds for me. I like the super dark purples. And get the names. You will be going when they are in full bloom. Lucky! My Batik is just about ready to bloom. Hmm- maybe we can share Iris, I visit Oregon a lot.

I have two really nice purples that I bought last year from them. Blue Suede Shoes is the darkest, it is blue/purple. I can't remember the name of the other one, but I do have the tag, it is red/purple and lavender. They are both supposed to rebloom in the fall.

They aren't ready to divide yet but my dwarf beardeds are. I have a lovely mauve/brown/burgundy one. I think it is lovely anyway. I don't have the name though.

I have all the Iris I have room for but would be happy to share divisions, as long as I don't have to ship. I'm terrible at getting plants boxed up and taken to the post office.

I think Schreiners has their whole catalog online.

Dancing Oaks is a nice place to visit ~ it's between Monmouth and Corvallis. Also Garland's in Corvallis.
