Cheap and big and good do not usually come together in one package.

Makil, try Big Trees in Snohomish. I know they've got deodars, I'm just not sure how big. Not cheap of course for massive specimens, but I think their prices are generally not-ridiculous for what you get, especially if you can transport & plant yourself.

Not looking for cheap; just not highway robbery. Yes, I checked BigTrees and they aren't outrageous, but thought it was worth checking to see if there were other resources out there I hadn't known about. There are so many landscapers that have unnamed tree yards they are willing to sell from, I thought maybe folks might know of some...

I've grown several hundred over the years. I finally realized that most yards can't accommodate them after a few years. They get big, and they do it fast.
You don't say where you are, nor your circumstances.

Oh, sorry about that. I'm in South Snohomish County on a couple of acres. I'm planning to place it in a large open sunny spot where it will do fine with its large size. Companion plantings of a few Calocedrus decurrens, though I'm going to have to place them farther away than I'd like for now, but they'll grow in together, as you say, in no time, I'm sure.

I think they are under used. The reason is probably they are a bit chancy when transplanting. Unless grown in a container, the root system resembles that of a Juniper. Read: difficult rootball.
I've seen them growing side by side with Sagebrush near Klamath Falls, Oregon and on the rainy side of the Cascades west of there, and everywhere in between. A giant, drought resistant, Emerald in my book.

The biggest known Calocedrus in WA are in Pt Defiance Park, near the roses. Over 100' tall when last measured. Himalayan cedars taller than that have been measured in other locations. Along with this height comes a big spread, unless specimen is crowded by other trees. Since growth is fairly rapid shelling out for large, clumsy specimen might not be the best idea. Tree's brittle branches also apt to be broken during less than completely successful handling.
