probably easier to start in an old plastic pot and see if they sprout, transplant them if they do. they are a "spring bulb" so your window is now.

Cut or break some open to see if they look viable. If all hard and dry probably not.

Best to put them in a blender and puree them. Pour them over a heaping bowl of shredded leaves and serve it to the compost pile. Yum!
