MP is a coleus, so I wouldn't call it a flower. It would not live through the winter outdoors but could be brought in or taken cuttings. If you go to Butchart Gardens you can see lots of WOW but it is mostly annuals. Start from seed or buy pony packs. I have had 4 o'clocks do spectacularly and the tubers can be dug and stored over winter, and I've also had great displays with dahlias. Tuberous begonias can be great in part shade.

My favorite flowers are probably the perennials I don't have to dig, though, most WOW being what is blooming at the time-
roses
daylilies
tall bearded irises
clematis
fuchsias
and in their seasons- Pulmonaria, Aquilegia, daffodils, species Tulips, gladiolas
