Pear tree clean up

Have two big, old, prolific pear trees here on the property, unsure as to what specie. Poorly trimmed/shaped through the years and could be in their last days, as neighbors tell me they're at least 50 years old, but they do make some good fruit---canned over 25 gallons, and gave away at least another 150-200 lbs. They also make a heckuva mess with the final fruit drop late fall, which stayed on the ground until yesterday when it got changed from a couple hundred lbs. rotted fruit on the ground to evenly spread fermented "apple sauce" after I ran the John Deere over it. I actually got stuck in it a couple times trying to chop it up! In hindsight, perhaps not the best idea.

What do others of you do for annual clean up? Can the dropped, rotted fruit go into the garden or compost piles? High fructose content effect of any sort on the soil? Would horses or cattle eat the stuff? Any/all comments/suggestions would be appreciated in prep for next year!
