This late you would be talking about Kousa dogwood. I noticed earlier in the year, when they were in bloom that local Cornus florida trees were spectacular this time around.

Yes, the Kousas have been blooming for several weeks now. Mine are just finishing up. I prefer the Kousas over any variety of Cornus florida.

My white kousas were not impressive at all, half the flowers as usual but I have noticed some pink/salmon ones around town that were spectacular. I didn't realize that there were bright pink and salmon kousas. I thought only blush pinks were available. I'm clearly out of the dogwood loop. I wish I had room for one. I don't recall these ever blooming so extravagantly, one I have passed many times and never noticed it but it was much too large to be newly planted. I slowed the car down it was so gorgeous.
