I have long wanted to plant a Robinia pseudoacacia 'Frisia' on my open sunny hillside, but it is often very windy and I read that Robinia is brittle and loses branches easily in a windy site--further that it suckers all over. I saw a Gleditsia with the same finely dissected yellow leaves and wondered if it would be a good substitute? Anyone grown these trees?
