Call some garden centers. I suppose they may tell you it is the wrong time of the year.

...or call some of the smaller landscape companies, I have seen them patching lawns in summer for sewer line repair and other lawn disruptions.

I saw rolls outside at Home Depot in western WA last week and would think you could just purchase an individual roll. I saw someone loading up a trailer.

Just so you are aware......sod has a very short shelf life. Ideally, it should be laid within 24 hours of harvesting but certainly within a day or two at most. Rolled or stacked on pallets, sod begins to heat up rapidly and high temperatures develop ethylene gas, which signals the initial stage of decompostion. Sod found at places like Home Depot is typically at least several days old, often a week or more, and is well on its way to deterioration. Usually not worth the money you spend.
