As the suckers emerge off to the side of your row, you can stick a shovel straigth down next to the row and you can get a little root with the new sucker. It should grow when transplanted.

This should be interesting- the original planter of this raspberry thicket didn't plant them too organized. There is no rows, just tons of stalks along our fence wall. It is spreading into my garden and crowding my plants.
