Will need frost protection, they will rot over winter if left in water. Been there and done that.

You can keep it going if you have a place that is heated and well lighted or let it go dormant and stick in a place that doesn't freeze like a garage or basement. Water it a couple of times but don't keep it moist or totally bone dry.

I took our water canna lily into the greenhouse for the winter. I left it in the pot to die back and then repot it in the spring before it started to grow.
