My Crepuscule has mildew on the new growth, and has a few blooms now. Reve d"Or has almost no signs of mildew and has some blooms. La Biche gets some BS and balls in the wet part of spring but outgrows them later. She just finished an empressive show of huge clusters of flowers. I couldn't see any mildew on her now. Champney's Pink Cluster blooms a lot in spring, and had no disease problems then or now. I think it will get rampant and I'm just growing it on a small trellis so I will have to do a lot of cutting back. Marechal Niel has been very slow to establish, is only about 3' tall now, same age as the rampant CPC, and has one little bloom, no new growth, and no signs of BS or mildew. My favorite climber for performance is still the hot pink Zepherine Drouhin, thornless, gets BS in spring then shrugs it off, continuous bloom on my first-blooming rose every year, continuing clear through to frost and beyond. I saw only a tiny bit of mildew on one new growth tip on a very large plant.

I myself saw very little disease in roses in pots that were getting daily watering with fish emulsion fertilizer. I don't find it practical to do that with roses in the ground. I just choose not to notice any foliage problems and enjoy the roses anyway.

Now common rose distributed under study name "Darlow's Enigma" is quite carefree, one of those being planted and grown where there are no "regular" roses that require coddling. Flowers and foliage like common white version of Rosa multiflora but semidouble, borne during summer-autumn season of R. moschata.
