More cold last week of March?

Hi everyone,

This is just a heads up to the potential for another cold outbreak next week. It won't be like the brutal cold we saw at the beginning of the month, at least here in Oklahoma. But it could still be significantly below normal, which could still be quite damaging. It's still very much in question whether we'll get a glancing blow or will get a more direct shot (or more).

Check out this link from today (3/17) for more information.

Ugh. Same song....49th verse. Shoulda got better but instead it got worse.

Welcome to Oklahoma! Seriously? The same ol' typical non-predictable state of the weather here. Thanks for the heads-up! You've been a real help! And that is a plus in our ever-changing climate conditions.....!

So, instead of planting live, I should plant plastic. :( why Oklahoma? Why?!

Thanks, Lee, as always for the heads-up.

Y'all, I'm just glad we're as far south as we are. At least we keep getting a little taste of spring weather here and there.

Not sure how I feel about that.

I really appreciate the info though.

This is one of those years where I've become absolutely tired of winter...

otoh, it's been warm enough that weeds are starting to grow in the garden. iow, the worst of both worlds.

Some of the lettuce and spinach have sprouted, now, along with a few of our annual flowers. The peach tree is in bloom, already. I wasn't expecting that to happen for another year or two. (Shiny! Pretty colors!)

Here in Duncan we received approx. 2.5 inches of rain out of that last storm, as well, so it isn't all bad news, here. I do wish it'd warm up another ten degrees or so...and stay that way.

No big changes to the forecast. It looks like this will be just a "normal" Spring cool spell with temps about 10-15 degrees below normal for 4-5 days. The cooler air will start filtering into northern Oklahoma Saturday and make it all the way through the state by late Sunday. The brunt of the coldest air will probably miss us to the east. I think Wednesday morning will be the coldest morning for most of Oklahoma, with lows in the 20's for most of the state. Then we should start to warm back up to normal or above.

I think this will be good as a whole. It will stop a lot of things from budding out until April. The blueberries are ready to burst, but the pecans are still a ways away.

It got down to 23 last night at the farm. I was shocked.

I see there is a system change late next week to bring pacific storms onshore further south so maybe we will get some moisture around the end of the month from those.
