Would ordinarily be too small at that size to have coned and demonstrated gender. These are raised from seed, no way to know which type of strobili (cones) a particular individual will produce until it grows up and starts making them. If you want local origin stock - this is not necessary to be sure of suitability to local conditions - find a female with seeds on the ground around it and plant some of those in pots filled with suitable potting soil, place in sheltered but cool (unheated but not freezing hard) and bright area and grow your own. It's probably too late for this year's crop, but it can't hurt to check under mature specimens near you.

Thanks, I did not know that about the gendering. I do know where several females are (my favorite is an old one in Milwaukie that appears to be dying). However, that being the case, do you know of any of either sex that have a little size to them that I could lay my hands on?

Probably somebody in the Willamette Valley. Maybe start by looking in telephone directories for specialists in big trees.

I noticed the one in a parking strip near here (SE PDX) that is 20+ feet has produced cones for the first time.
