We went down to Puyallap today to visit Hartman Nursery and taste some apples. Bob Hartman is GREAT. He's created his fruit tree nursery at his *home*. It seems odd when you first arrive because you're not driving into a commercial space with a parking lot, but he has an extensive collection. He does his own grafting, has amazing variety, and only carries fruit that he knows to thrive in our area from personal experience. You have to make an appointment if you go before November, and if you're not particularly knowledgeable, it's well worth it. He's generous with his time and information - he spent 90 minutes with us. Highly recommended.
