Sadly, I don't have a photo, because my phone is so quaint that it does not have a camera built into it. There are some bushes by my office that have intrigued me for months, so hopefully I can get an ID from description alone.

The main thing I've noticed about them is that, back in September or so, they looked like they were about to start blooming, but then they just never progressed. The plants have gorgeous purplish burgundy umbels of buds, of which about 10% opened early in the fall, and now, 3 or 4 months later, they're about at the same point in terms of how many are open. The flowers are very small (The bushes themselves are short, about 2 feet tall, but they've been pruned into an ugly rectangular hedge, so who knows what height they'd prefer.
