Snowdrop bulbs: too late?

Someone asked about planting tulip bulbs this late, and the answer was go ahead. What about the snowdrop bulbs that I forgot until yesterday when I noticed that the ones still in the ground are already putting out green foliage. Is there any chance the ones I left in the sack can catch up, or is it hopeless?

Definitely hopeless if you don't plant them.

Yes, plant them. If they haven't gone bad in the bag from dehydration and/or fungus, they should be able to grow roots and survive just fine. I would think the worst thing would be that you might not get flowers the first year.
