A man I talked to once at the Snohomish "Farmer's" (not anymore) Market was growing garlic in a field near there without ever watering it. A friend used to grow quite a bit on Camano Island, again not a plant you expect to be watering much, if at all in this climate.

If yours is mush after it thaws in the next few days, then you will know there is a problem.

My husband grows a lot of garlic every year. He gets his seed bulbs from Filaree....a few years ago he contacted them with the same concern and they told him not to worry....they were correct....the garlic was fine. jwww

It depends when the cloves were planted. If they're only up a couple of inches from being planted in October or November don't do a thing.
If they were planted earlier and have floppy black tops it's too late.

Yes, late October, early November is the ideal planting time on the west side of the cascades. I don't know about the east side. jwww
