I have my heart set on planting a decent-sized (4-5 ft. sapling) Honey Locust. In the last house I had here in Joplin, I planted one outside my bedroom window and named her "Merciful Shade." Well, Merciful did really, really well and was a ferny-leafed vision about 15 ft. tall when I left.

Everywhere here having trees for sale I have asked about this tree sort of act like it's not "worthy."!! Well, it's not a Mighty Oak, but it grows really fast and is beautiful, and I never had any weather damage.

Has anyone in the Springfield or Joplin areas seen a gallon Honey Locust sapling? It has to go in my car, so gallon size is all I can handle. The last resort would be to order one on the internet. They are shipped 3-4 ft., bare-root.

Any ideas?
