So sorry to hear about the tornado damage Friday. Anyone close to that area?

It seems that every time a storm system goes through somebody somewhere has a tornado.....I start worrying every time a cloud comes up.

Yes, Arkansas friends, please check in.

The tornados were not close to us. How terrible for those who lost so much, espacially the deaths.
We got 5 inches of rain over night, and our roads are in the worse condition that I have ever seen in my 75 years of life! If the storms that are predicted this week materialize I am afraid we will be marooned.
There are others that have it worse than we do, and they are getting the attention....naturally that is as it should be.

Marian, I wondered about you on that mountain top. Sorry to hear about your road. Is it a private road or will it be the county's responsibility (hopefully)?

The storm that went to Birdtown went over us. Was as black as midnight. But did no damage until about 50mi away. Hope the bad weather doesnt come back on tuesday like they say.

Glad to hear from a couple of you. Hope more checks in. No problems here except our road. Hope the county grader comes soon. Hopefully the weather will calm down in another couple of weeks.

How about James? I think he's in that area and had damage earlier this year.

Glenda, Part of it is our private driveway(600'), but 2 miles of it is county road. Both are in bad need of help. The county has made attempts at fixing their part, but another heavy rain comes and more than undoes what they have worked on! I have worked on our drive, and the corner where we connect with the county road. It is all undone now, and even worse. I am getting too old for this! I have to drive 5 miles an hour on the worst of it, and am afraid I will ruin my little car. :-(

This is the county road at the head of our driveway:

Next is the lower end of our drive, where it enters our circle drive:

That is a very steep road up the hill from our mailbox. There is a deep gully about 15-20 feet long and at least a foot wide down the middle of the road on up the hill.

I haven't taken any pics of the road on out toward the paved highway.
