Yikes is right!

Is that a spider?? oh, that hits really high on the hebegebe (sorry if this is misspelled) list with me. I don't mind snakes too much but those, yuck.
Did you figure out what kid it is?

big as a silver dollar. have no idea what it is other then a spider.

There's an Insect Forum at Nature.net. It's probably not harmful but I think I would want to find out what it is just in case.

I have googled 10-legged spiders and the ones I found are in Africa, or some other foreign country. It sure looks like a spider. In fact I am sure it is. Maybe it is some sort of mutation ?

I think it might be some kind of tarantula. This page at Tarantulas.com explains the two extra appendages that look like legs.

My guess would be a brown recluse or violin spider. Tarantulas found in this area are pretty hairy. Don't let it bite you. You won't die but this bugger can make an awful looking, deep sore that takes forever to heal.

Pomonaflower, don't think it's a recluse. We're infested with them and they're brown.
You're right about the tarrentulas bite being nasty. My DD knows.

It doesn't look like a brown recluse. I can spot them across a room. It is a good guy and it can come to my house. I need all the help I can get to battle the plant eaters. It may be a coincidence and I'm sure it is but... the other day I found a whole bunch of tiny spiders that had just hatched. I put them on my daylily (big apple) which had been blooming with funny blotchy red every day. The next time it bloomed, the flower was perfect.
