I leave mine till they have a couple leaves & are nearly 'potbound' in the seedling tray(s). That way I'm sure I'm not going to damage the little guys.

Sometimes I forget & they get to be 6" to almost a foot before I get to them.. They're fine. Transplant too early tho & you risk damaging roots and killing them.

THANKS!! here are my baby incarnatalets (I'm soo happy) they were soaked overnight in water then planted... nine days later they germinated. they are three days old in this pic.

there seems to be a thin skin around the cotyledon leaves... will the cotyledons break through this skin?? or do I need to pull it off??

here are all the seeds I am starting at the moment.
from right to left: incarnata (6 seeds, 2 germinating), quadrangularis (3 seeds, 0 germinating), foetida unknown (4 seeds, 0 germinating)
