I've tried tulips a few times and just don't have any luck. And I'm cheap, so I give up pretty quickly if I don't get results. They'll come up but never make a bloom. And the second year, nothing. I've just started looking for crocus, daffodils and iris that give me the height and colors I want. I see you're zone 6 though, so maybe that's enough more cool weather to help you out. By the way, I didn't think Arkansas had any zone 6?

I have a number of species Tulips and enjoy seeing them return year after year. In my Zone, the large Dutch Hybrids are treated as an Annual, because we don't have enough chill hours for them during the winter.
These are the species and cultivars that I have:
T. bakeri 'Lilac Wonder'
T. dasystemon
T, humilis 'Persian Pearl'
T. 'Little Beauty'
T. 'Little Princess'
T. saxitilis
T. turkestanica
T. bartilini 'Bright Gem'
T. bartilini Red Gem'
T. clusiana 'Lady Jane'

The Tulipa species have become more popular in recent years and new species and cultivars are now being offered by the major bulb importers.

Most of the species and their cultivars are hardy to Zone 5, some to Zone 3 and do well up to Zone 8.

The northwestern part of AR(the taller ozark mts and plateau is zone 6. I live on top of a 2000 ft. mt.
I've been looking at a couple of the tulips you
mentioned. I'm going to go ahead and order them.
