Good point Dytecture! Would an option be to square up the slope ceiling (bulkhead) for wall cabinets?

Depends on what you are doing with your cabinets, like the others said. Are you going to have upper cabinets at all? If not, are you going to have open shelves? Wouldn't you be better off doing the tongue and groove on the wall? etc. etc. This is not a one size fits all answer, the ceiling is a part of a whole.

This is a kitchen ceiling I designed last year. The T & G is edged with quarter round trim to add a finished edge. I dropped in the same wall color on the angled part of the ceiling to bring out the
architecture of the ceiling. All flat if the ceiling were painted the same color. Hope this helps, good

As Dytecture pointed out, your wall cabinetry is going to be a bit of a challenge, do you plan to do custom cabinetry or open shelving? The answer to where you'd stop the T&G on the ceiling will depend on that and a few other details.

It looks as though the low spot of the angled wall is around 6ft. If you're installing custom cabinetry, the top back could be angled to increase your overall height of the face of the cabinet, but you'll still only get around 7ft at the front. (Because the angle looks around 2ft deep).

Could you post a sketch showing your cabinetry plan and elevations? That would help determine the potential issues with transitioning from the T&G to the cabinetry and crown etc.

The cabinets are from the Habitat for Humanity Restore. I am going to repaint them cream. The lower cabinets are a u shape, starting at the door. I am not putting upper cabinets across the slanted part, although might use a glass fronted corner cabinet and cut the back to fit. I'm not sure if I'm going to put the stove at an angle in the opposite corner. I prefer not to, but its all about space. (Might not have room for a fridge otherwise!). I will get rid of the dish washer- we are in the country and can't waste the water- and move everything over... The fridge would go where the stove used to be. The sink would be close to the center of the wall that has the slanted ceiling. I might build a plate rack on one side of the sink. I have one at the house that I am in now and love it
