It should definitely make it! I think at that height your trachy probably makes at least 6 fronds a season during a good year so by next summer it should be back to normal but I think it will look pretty decent by late summer/early fall. Hope it has a quick recovery. At least it looks alive which is better than most palms around here!

It's already growing well. Emerging frond behind the green in the photo is over a foot taller than just a short time before this pic was taken. Feeling relief...this guy is a family member.

Trishmick, congratulations on your palm's survival; was it protected in any way? It has a couple of feet of trunk on my "Bulgarian" but otherwise looks similar, right down to that bit of green peeking out. Since the spear didn't pull, I think recovery will be fairly rapid and our palms should have an almost-full crown by the end of the growing season. My biggest concern is getting it through the next winter--let's hope for a mild one to give our palms more time to recover!
