Slug bait on or under mulch?

20 years ago

Just cleared the winter debris in an Iris bed and found quite a few slugs/snails. I need to re-mulch this bed with pine bark.

Should I throw slug bait first and cover with the mulch, or mulch first and put bait on top?

Or BOTH??
