Organically - DE, diatomaceous earth. The horticultural grade, not the product sold for pools. You'll have to reapply after rain or watering, but your damage should decrease as the plants mature a little, the pill/sow bugs won't be as interested in your plants as they get older.

Have you mulched around the beans, you might consider pulling that back until your young plants are stronger. Or, if there is debris, hiding places close to the beans, remove that.

My worst year with them was when I'd been letting a little 1" groundcovering sedum have its own way among plants, thinking it looked nice, was keep weeds at bay. It was also making great sow bug habitat and I removed it, problem was solved.

I havent mulched yet for that same reason. I live right on a river so its usually always prety damp in the evenings. My yard is invested with them and i guess they just find their way in durring the morning. (i have raised beds) Whats odd is that these plants are about a month old. I was under the impression they would have lost interest by now. I will try the DE. Thanks for you help. Its much appreciated.
