First of all, congratulations on getting a seedling to bloom in 12 months!!! A seedling is named whatever you decide to name it because it is one-of-a-kind. It is not an exact duplicate of it's parent(s) even if it has similar traits.

It's very pretty! I love the six petals ;) My guess would be as good as any about who the parents were.

As a seedling, it can't have a name (unless you name it something unique). If you know exactly what plant the seeds came from (for example, seedling of a 'Pink Lemonade'), you could call it 'A Seedling of XXX'.

But since no seedlings are true clones of their mother plant, it doesn't have a name.

OK all that said, let me just say that this might be something real special, since it's such a nice flower for its first (six petals!) and is blooming so early! . Looks like it's going to branch nicely too.

Thank you Tony & Dave for your replies! I took a closer picture of the bloom hopefully to show how pretty this plumie is! We are both very excited with this plumie. The seedlings were given to us by a friend who collects plumies from shows at Disney in Florida, so we have no idea as to the parentage. I have another which is slightly smaller, but it is not showing any signs of inflos so far.

Good advise from Dave and Tony, both long-time experienced collectors. A six petal flower is fairly rare but the rest may be five petals. I have a six on my Mardi Gras now but it usually makes fives. I get a couple of sixes each year out of several hundred plants. What is said above is important as identifying a flower from a picture is a major problem which leads to people buying future cuttings that are incorrectly named. I have red seedlings that came from pure white and pure pink flowering mothers. The gene pool is large and the variety is what makes these plants so collectable. Also the first flower may not be true, but I have found that whites can change but reds stay red for me.
