Obviously I liked the answers as I said I was going to transform the cabinet into shelves with baskets. I asked what I should do with the area underneath as no one really gave their input on that part. I'm sorry but if it REALLY bothers you (obviously it does since you take time out of your day to write a comment like that) then DON'T look at it. Or better yet- there are many people out there who don't spend every waking hour on this website- unlike you. Maybe THEY have an opinion.

because of the closeness to the toilet ...maybe use the bottom as storage for cleaning supplies...put shelves on top open up... to see for bath towels pretty soaps etcc

Not being able to see the front area of this, I would agree with Linda. If you need storage, consider a stand-alone piece you can put there with baskets and leave some shelves for pretties. Other suggestion could be close it all the way to the floor as a wall and move the door to the other side????

I appreciate the advice. Unfortunently I cannot move the door as the other walls lead to another bathroom etc. I have considered closing the bottom as a wall then making the top into shelves ? Hmmmm

Can you install some kind of slide up door, like an appliance garage type door, on the bottom portion? I like the idea of using it for cleaning supplies that 0147 suggested. If the slide up door is not possible and you want to use the space instead of closing it off, then maybe a tension rod with some type of material or sliding panel.
