Hi MonkeyGurlz! Congrats on your new cuttings!

I would use a very well draining mix for both the cutting and the rooted plant - maybe even a bit more so with the cutting. A lot of people use cactus mix and various other combinations that work well for them - just make sure it drains really well. For example, regular potting soil just by itself is peat based so it becomes very compact and retains too much moisture. So I take potting soil and mix it with a lot of perlite and something called Lady Bug 'landscapers mix' or something like that Jandey told me about.

For your containers you are right, make sure they have drainage holes and no saucers! I don't use clay pots so I can't really comment on those but some people do and have great success - both are good.

I would wait to fertilize the rooted plant until it has been potted up for a while to recover. You can use SuperThrive though, that is basically a vitamin B12 kind of tonic and the plants love it. For the cuttings, you won't fertilize until they are rooted.

In Michigan, yes if you want to get a decent growing season I think you will probably want to get lights. And make sure you get an insecticidal soap or something to combat spider mites because indoors it is inevitable they will come.
