I loved this thread, I didnt realize so many other folks here were as excited about this as I am. I have often joked about being trapped in the wrong time. Anything from 1909-1929 is aluring to me. After reading all the comments I realize I have been shaping my garden in this direction for as long as I have had it. Has any one read the "Mary Frances Garden Book"? It came out in the late teens, early 20s and is a story about a girls adventures in her home garden. Its kind of whimsical, but sort of a birds eye view of a garden of the day. My mom had it when she was a kid, and fortunately held on to it, but I realize now, its is older than she is, so she must have gotten it from some one who loved it befor we did. At any rate, its kind of cool, and thanks for all the wonderfull insight.
