Name That Rose!

Lovely Lady! (with lovely pics)

This rose was given to me by a neighbor in her 70s. She said that it had been handed down in her family since her grandmother. The blooms are swimmingly fragrant and held singly. The stems on the blooms seem unusually beefy, and the serrations of the leaflets terminate in what this non-expert would call "soft prickles". It's lovely. She did not know the name of this rose.

At this point, I don't know about rebloom. She only gave me this one flower.

A wild guess would be "American Beauty," a popular hybrid perpetual that was introduced in the 1870s. It looks like the same color to me, and it's very fragrant:

Not sure. The literature says the color tended towards red, and the rose in the garden is a true medium pink to my eye....

But it is good that you had the 'vision' to take pics of the underside, the leaves and stem/thorns also. Such are the things that help people who know (in other words, not me) to identify one from the other better. I may be a newbie but I know a good idea when I see one.

Haven't gotten much activity on this. I failed my first try at rooting.
