    I love all pink flowers, especially roses and peonies. Wild Eve is absolutely exquisite. Is she fragrant?
    Voluptous and Georgetown Tea... very exciting. I like them all. Which ones smell the best?
    Thank you for sharing!

    Here is Radio Times. This is its first bloom. Very fragrant and very pretty at all stages. Sorry the photo is so dark.

    Miniature - Marriotta

    Cinderella Fairytale! What an appropriate name for that beautiful pink rose.

  • 18 years ago

    Kayli, your pinks are lovely. Cinderella Fairytale is wonderful and I love the name. Thanks for sharing.

    Kate, I love that Hip Happy, going to HMF to look it up. Your pinks are just great.

  • 18 years ago

    Thanks Carla. I forgot to say thanks for a fun thread. I loved your pink roses. I'd like to know the name of your second to last pink rose. Lovely.

    A word of warning on Roemer's Hip Happy. Although this is my first year with it (new this spring from ARE) it has been covered in mildew all spring/summer. Nothing I've done has changed the situation at all. It is still blooming pretty well and I love the little flowers. But in light of that problem I would not buy it again.

    Kate, it may be Grandmother's Hat. I'm so bad, I have labels and haven't finished them or put them out! I really need to get that done. If I think of another possibility, I'll e-mail you.
    I wonder if Roemer's HH would mildew here. I'll check it out.

    Thanks,
    Carla

  • 18 years ago

    Thanks Carla. So maybe Grandmother's Hat? My MIL is growing that this year. She picked one up at the Sacramento City Cemetery Sale in April. Next year I'll be down there with all the crazy rose people at that sale.

    Normally we don't have much of a mildew issue here. One thing though is that even with the mildew that rose does flower all the time. And I love its cheerful little blossoms. Tonight I'll try to get a picture of the whole plant and let you be the judge if you want to give it a shot or not.

    Have a great day.

    More Pink,

    Kitty's Rose

    Rose Ball before the JBs made it a full meal

    Happy Memories
    {{gwi:332429}}

    Prairie Princess
    {{gwi:269071}}

  • 18 years ago

    Don't have time to look up much right now, but these just bloomed. Most of what's bloomin' (which ain't much) are oranges and apricots.

    APRIL HAMER - not a typical bloom in this heat
    {{gwi:1258658}}

    BROOKS RED - more pink than red
    {{gwi:1258660}}

    HEART & SOUL - a good one I got from Heirloom a couple yrs ago
    {{gwi:1258661}}

    MEMORIAL DAY - the thrips love it
    {{gwi:1258662}}

  • 18 years ago

    UGH I know what you mean. My Memorial Day (which mine seems to be NOT Memorial Day) is pink and prime snacking for thrips. It gives PJP II a run for its money in thrip magnets.

  • 18 years ago

    rosesnpots, Prairie Princess is a beautiful thing. Nice pinks and thanks for sharing.

    Carla

  • 18 years ago

    All very pretty, but the ones I like the very best are the Georgetown Tea and Chicago Peace.

  • 18 years ago

    I really enjoyed everyone's beautiful pink roses and flowers and I have another couple of pinks to add:
    {{gwi:315353}}
    This is looking more mauve than lavender right now:

    This is supposed to be a red blend but it looks magenta in the heat:

    These are not particularly good blooms but they're happy looking ones:)

    Carla
    Thank you about Prairie Princess, it is my very first rose and one of the easiest to grow.

    Les,
    I love your picture of Edisto. I picked up this rose this year and the JBs ate the first blooms so I hope they will be gone when it blooms again in a few days.
